Syria dies so that there will be freedom

Dante, Tagore, Jefferson, Gibran, Beethoven, Darwish, Nizar Kabbani, to name but the few, and all the great visionaries, poets and prophets of freedom, stand with us and kneel with us at the altar of freedom. We are already in the company of the heroes of humanity.  Is there a greater honour? Bring your candles and roses youths of Syria and sing for as sure as there will be another dawn, Syria will walk into freedom.

Freedom taught the stars to evolve

Freedom taught the earth to revolve

Taught the moon to pull the seas

Taught the winds to draw the rains

Freedom taught the seed to seek the light

The trees to reach up to the heavens the birds to fly

The mountains to tower and the valleys to hold

Freedom taught man to lift his head and praise

The stars the planets the moon the seas the winds

The seeds the the birds trees the mountains the valleys

Freedom taught the Syrians how to die

So that Syria might live might be might fly.
