Bearing witness: From France voices rise bearing witness

I came across the following videos by accident. My search was sparked by the death of a great fighter for human rights, Stephane Hessel. The video contain extracts from other videos made by citizen journalists and photographers showing glimpses of the different stages of the Syrian Revolution. They recall great memorable moments of the Revolution which started as a peaceful protest against tyranny and injustice when people in their thousands took to the streets chanting and dancing, hope filling their souls with the ecstasy of intimations of freedom. Then the killing started and the Syrian regime moved to quench the Revolution relentlessly and savagely.  The rest is history, a history of death, untold suffering and destruction

A Facebook  friend of mine commented on  the videos: I have watched literally thousands of heartbreaking videos since the revolution in Syria began…but none have touched me as deeply as these short videos from France discovered by my friend Alisar. Each one is approximately a minute & a half long and you do not have to understand French to be impacted by the messages they convey.  Please watch..

Below is Hessel’s video and those of others.
