They are selling Syria for thirty pieces of silver: the chemical weapons. They will get their chemical weapons or the promise of them then wash their hands off the blood of the Syrian people like Pilate, leaving Christ alone to be crucified..
I shall dedicate this article to reflecting on the Syrian conflict from the ethical point of view. There are thousands of writers, analysts, geopoloticians and global policy makers assessing it from every possible point of view, yet not enough emphasis has been laid on the ethicality of abandoning a country and its people to annihilation. The squabbles go on, the lies multiply, the justifications and excuses for action or inaction can fill the shelves of libraries and clog the cyberspace. I am not quarrelling with them but I am here to claim that the Syrian problem is primarily a human and ethical issue. Our century is going to be judged by how it has and will deal with Syria as a country, a repository of civilizations and a nation delivered to the slaughter house and evil. Yes, I am using the word evil, because it is morally reprehensible to deliver a people, nearly half of whom are children and young adults, to death, starvation, uprootedness, dispersion, pillage, rape and annihilation, and, yes, it is evil to accept, to condone or do nothing while the holocaust of the century is being re-enacted on defenceless women, children and peaceful citizens. You might say, O it is not that easy. In answer, I would say, yes it is that easy to determine whether we are doing right by our fellow human beings or just standing aside while massive crimes against humanity are being committed against them.
Equating the fate of the Syrian people with the chemical weapons is morally wrong
No matter how I look at, no matter how I weigh it, consider it, justify it or condemn it, the issue of Syria’s chemical weapons and the way it was used as a ploy to deliver Asssad to safety, while the Syrian people continue to suffer unspeakable acts of cruelty rankles, not to say stinks of moral depravity. If the Americans wish to be the stooges of the Russians, it is their problem; only we request them to stop pretending to be the champions of liberty, human rights and the ethical norms of mankind. The absolute dichotomy between pragmatic, narcissistic, inhumane political dithering and shrewd stalling, as compared to the enshrined ideals of Western morality which embody the universal morality of humanity is staggering. The moral implications of the deal signed by two super powers to reprieve the killer and run away with the loot has the making of a dark comedy or a political farce of the worst kind because it is not dictated by the moral imperative of saving the Syrians from WMD, but by the self-serving principles, and egoistic objectives of sparing both Russia and the West the possibility of the weapons falling in the wrong hands and being used against them. The Syrians, except the Assadis, are not present in this equation.
Why do I think and feel that they have got it all wrong: human rights, humanity, morality, freedom, emancipation, the imperatives dictating the protection of children, the helpless, the voiceless and the weak, reasons to go to war and reasons for action or inaction? They have got them wrong because, on the whole, they are not ready to think of them as universal, pertaining to all individuals and all nations.
“It has nothing to do with us, it is not our problem, charity starts at home, and it might be against our interests, it certainly does not serve our interests; we are pacifists we are antiwar, we are against intervention and more…and more”, play the variations on the theme of the justification of inaction and the endless pretexts offered to ignore genocide. All the recent wars in the Middle East were fuelled by the mad rush for oil or national interests and security issues. Is fighting a war for humane reasons an aberration and a flagrant violation of the codes of national interests and International pragmatism and hegemony, we might endeavour to ask?
May be it needs a Syria, a human disaster of an unprecedented scale in our times to write a new chapter in International relations: a taming of the beast of narcissism, International domination and global inter-relations. May be the regrets over Syria, for they will yet regret abandoning Syria to annihilation, will be the deciding factor in ending the rule of the magnificent 5 at the Security Council in favour of creating a Security Council which reflects a fairer global system that will not sacrifice the smaller nations at the altar of global indifference, greed and injustice.
How dare they reduce the struggle for freedom and dignity of the Syrian people, their momentous fight against the tyrants of their own country to just stripping Assad of his chemical weapons? Worse, why are they thinking that Assad the destroyer of Syria is the saviour who will rid them of Al-Qaeda if he stays? Hitherto, he has been fighting his people, not Al-Qaeda. The tragedy in all this is that the Syrian people are not and their fate is not the heart of the matter. Yet, it is apt to remember here that the fighting mass in Syria, whether government forces or Opposition fighters, does not exceed half a million maximum, while the truth is that there are about 22 million civilians, 7 millions of whom are displaced internally and externally. Therefore, why is it impossible to see the conflict in human terms? Why can’t they take a gamble on the Syrians? The future is a foreign territory which has to be explored. There are no guarantees about it. But without daring and gambling in the hope that there might be something good there, instead of allowing ourselves to drown in the vicious circles of speculations and nightmares, nothing will be won while much or all might be lost. I wish the world to take a gamble on the enterprising, resilient, intelligent and smart Syrian young men and women. They deserve it. After all, they have been tested by fire, annihilation and lastly by Sarin. They are the grassroots, they are the body and soul of Syria that no Qaida or Assad should wipe out from the comatose conscience of the world.
It is morally wrong not to punish crimes against humanity, leaving the perpetrators at large
So they have sold the Syrians, for the chemical weapons. But a crime was committed. About 1400 people were gassed to death, many of them infants and young children. What are they going to do about them and about the crime? Forgive Assad and tell the naughty boy that he cannot any longer play with Sarin gas, then pat him on the shoulder and depart. The Hamletian President Obama is becoming more Hamletian by the day, while the Russians are playing him cat and mouse. What kind of world is this and what kind of leaders govern our world? They are the Hollow Men and this is but a hollow world. Woe for the little children of Syria.
The last weeks saw Obama and Kerry, declaring their plans, then changing their plans then reversing their plans then suspending those plans then reinventing them after the image of the Russians. The Congress was mobilized and prepared to vote for the plans only to sabotage the plans and leave the Congress no wiser. The age of wobbliness has dawned.
As the second stage of the saga went ahead, first it was getting rid of the chemical weapons within 30 days. Now the 30 days are extended by a miracle not to 3 months but six months, no, one year as Assad has recently declared. In addition the inspectors will not start work before November!! “So please be kind Angel of Death and do your best. Take your time. You have a license to kill now as many as you please. Women, children, young and old, they are all at your disposal. Just pick and choose, or better take them all indiscriminately. Cities and towns too, they are yours to turn into graveyards and dispose of the dead there. Gardens, parks, children’s playgrounds and any open spaces you can find are at your disposal as burial grounds. You will need them Death”, I wrote in my blog. But what about the crime, I ask again? Is is going to go unpunished, like in the past the massacres, the rapes, the torture, the destruction of hospitals with their medical staff, the bulldozing of cities, the Scuds, the bombardment of civilians, etc, etc..?
That is not all, it seems, because to help get rid of the chemical weapons and keep the boogieman Al-Qaeda at bay, a new role for Assad is in the making. He is needed to give the West and Russia the clues to the chemical weapons and lead them to where the loot is hidden. Is this the beginning of rehabilitating Assad and readmitting him into the civilized world? The corpses in their graves of the victims of the chemical attack are spelling Sarin to high heaven. How is the crime going to be buried and forgotten? By twisting the interpretation of the evidence as the Russians are doing or by failing to name the guilty party which shall remain anonymous for as long as is needed?
Moreover, a feverish campaign to equate the crimes of the regime with those of the rebels is launched , led by the Assad propagandists, but drawing support from the Western media and those who wish to appease their conscience by representing the rebels as equally responsible for similar heinous crimes, thus undermining and confusing the case against Assad for crimes committed against humanity. Only before refuting this argument, I wish to point out that the Syrian civilians are being now subjected to two wars, that of Assad against his people and that of Al-Qaeda affiliated groups against the Syrian civilians in order to gain territory and establish the rule of the State of Iraq and the Levant in Syria. These groups comprising Libyans, Tunisians, Iraqis, Iranians, fighters from the Gulf countries and Syrians are re-establishing the rule of the oligarchs in Syria. Not one true Syrian citizen or indigenous revolutionary wish to see these marauding or organized gangs wreak havoc in Syria and threaten the Syrian population. The FSA is trying to stand up to them but it cannot fight the regime and fight them at the same time with success. Crimes like beheading are mainly committed by Al Qaeda affiliated groups and the fanatical Islamists.
Both sides have committed war crimes, says the UN. We know that, but what are we supposed to do? Equate the regime’s massive crimes with the crimes of the fighting Opposition? Or waive aside the claim to punish the perpetrators of the chemical attack? Or forget about the fighter jets, the scud missiles, the napalm and the cluster bombs, etc.? Cities were razed to the ground, farms laid to waste, monuments burnt and heritage annihilated, shall we forget about them too? Presenting, as to equate, the massive crimes of Assad against his people with the gang-crimes committed by the likes of Qaeda and affiliates, or indeed presenting as to equate the retaliatory and revenge crimes committed by some members of the FSA, which the media seems to be fixated on, with Assad’s crimes against humanity is like equating Hiroshima with gang murders, marauding outsiders and local opportunists.
It is morally unforgivable to raze cities to the ground and destroy the cultural heritage of Syria and humanity
The Syrian regime has been systematically, ruthlessly, methodically erasing the cities and towns of its rebelling citizens since the onslaught on Baba Amr in Homs in the spring of 1912. The devastation of Baba Amr, and adjacent neighbourhoods, made us think then that that was the epitome of all destruction, that the last word in annihilation was said and finished with, that nothing more could possibly top the landscapes of torn concrete, mounds of debris and shattered, broken ,decimated districts, forming fantastic sacrilegious silhouettes against the dead skies. How naive we were, how short sighted!
That was before Aleppo, the jewel in the crown, and before the terrible gradual wiping out of Syria’s history and heritage, its historic mosques, ancient churches, picturesque old castles and archaeological sites. That was before Daraa, Deir Ezzor and the Ghouta of Damascus. And lastly, that was before the second cataclysm of Homs. In the annals of decivilization, some of whose most infamous chapters are being perfected to inimitable fine art by the Syrian army, the reign of President Assad stands unique; its thoroughness leading to the absolute in perfection. I believe that as we experience the existential horror of annihilation, we should do so in the full knowledge that, as it is happening to the others, it is also happening to us. We can pretend that the remains of a city and its people are geological features, or nothing but archaeological ruins which we can visit as tourists, then leave behind, maintaining our detachment in order to resume our ordinary lives and routines. Never the less, these newly devised archaeological sites, masterpieces of devastation caused by relentless bombardment by every known weapon, except the nuclear, were created under our very own eyes and are still being created as an indictment to our ambivalence and ethical disintegration. There are miles and miles of them: horrific skeletons of the annihilated Syrian cities, towns and villages.
The dehumanization, depopulating, de-structuring, de-texturing, and most of all the de-civilization of Syria, is taking place under the very eyes of either a silent, indifferent, uncaring world, or it may be, a calculating, scheming world that measures its reactions and actions by self interest, geopolitical ambitions and plain undiluted egoism. Syria is being decivilized to the extent that its history of civilization stands in the gravest peril of writing some of the bitterest and most tragic chapters it has ever written. Is the world insane or deranged? Do we want a regime that has perfected the art of annihilation and decivilization to survive in order to spare ourselves some unpleasant future headaches? An entire strata of the many layers of civilizations that Syria has played host to is being systematically insanely removed, i.e. that of Arab Islamic civilization. Once all traces of this top layer of the civilizations of Syria is removed with all its landmarks and cultural edifices, some of them surviving monuments of older civilizations, once a state of rootlessness is meticulously and thoroughly accomplished in a waste land of debris and rubble , the Syrian regime will start rebuilding its brave new world with the help of the Russians and with the help of the Iranians, as it has already been planned.
Civilisation cannot be measured by few hundred years. It took thousands of years to drag man form the cave to the moon and this was not the achievement of the West alone but the achievement of mankind from their humblest to their greatest. The West did not create the world after its own image. It took the whole of the accumulated heritage of humanity to enable the West to be where it is now. Syria, as the western part of Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilizations as it described by the historians, saw the first or some of the first steps of mankind towards the dawn of taming the beast in us and bringing man the creator and inventor into existence. Its earth is sacred to the Syrians and it should be sacred to humanity. Let us save what could be saved for Syria’s earth is the earth of mankind.

سوريا للبيع
هم كيهوذا يبيعون سوريا بثلاثين قطعة فضية ، أي مقابل السلاح الكيماوي. سيحصلون على أسلحتهم الكيماوية أو سيوعدون بها ومن ثم سيغسلون أيديهم من دم الشعب السوري كما فعل الحاكم الروماني بيلاتيوس عندما ترك المسيح ليصلب وحيدا.
أخصص هذه المقالة لموضوع الصراع السوري من وجهة النظر الأخلاقية. هناك الآلاف من الكتاب والمحللين و الجيوسياسيين و صناع القرارات العالميين الذين قيموه بكل الآراء الممكنة، إلا أن اخلاقيات التخلي عن بلد و شعب ليجابها الابادة لم يسلط عليها الضوء الكافي بعد و بوضوح، بينما تستمر النزاعات و تتكاثر الأكاذيب و تتعدد التعليلات والأعذار بشأن التدخل أم عدمه بحيث أنه يمكن طمر رفوف مكتبات و سد الفضاء الافتراضي بها . لا أريد مجادلتهم فأنا هنا لكي أطالب بأن القضية السورية هي بالدرجة الأولى و قبل كل شيء قضية انسانية و أخلاقية. انا اعتقد بان التاريخ سيحكم على القرن الحالي بالكيفية التي تعامل بها وسيتعامل بها مع سوريا كبلد ومصب للحضارات و أمة تم تسليمها وهجرها للعدمية والشـــر. نعم، انا أشدد على كلمة الشر لأنه لأمر مستهجن ومدان أخلاقيا مايحصل للشعب السوري الذي نصفه تقريبا أطفال ويافعون تركوا للموت و المجاعة و التشرد والتهجير و السلب و النهب و الاغتصاب و الإبادة. ،نعم انه لمن الشر أن نقبل بابادة جماعية هولوكستية معاصرة دون أن نحرك ساكنا أو نقف جانبا او نبقى صامتين أمام ما يحصل للنساء و الأطفال الذين لايجدون مدافعا وللمواطنين المسالمين العزل. ربما تقولون ليس الامر بمثل هذه السهولة، و لكني أرد وأقول ، نعم إنه سهل تحديد ما إذا كنا نفعل الصواب تجاه أخوتنا بالإنسانية أو أننا انما نكتفي بالوقوف جانبا بينما جرائم فظيعة ضد الإنسانية ترتكب بحقهم.
معادلة مصير الشعب السوري بمصيرالأسلحة الكيماوية عمل غير أخلاقي
كيفما نظرت أو قيمت أو وزنت أو عللت أو شجبت الامر فإن استخدام الأسلحة الكيماوية لمنح الأسد الأمان بينما يتعرض الشعب السوري لأقسى وسائل القتل والجرائم التي تستعصي على الوصف، هو موقف يحز في النفس ان لم نقل بانه يتسم بالتعفن الأخلاقي . و إذا ما قبل الأمريكيون أن يكونوا أضحوكة في أيدي الروس فهذه مشكلتهم و لكن عليهم التوقف عن إلادعاء بانهم حماة الحرية والمدافعين عن حقوق الانسان و القيم الأخلاقية الإنسانية. إن الانفصام المطلق ما بين البراغماتية، والنرجسية، والتردد السياسي اللاانساني، والتفنن في المماطلة، و بين المبادئ الأخلاقية المكرسة في الغرب والتي تجسد الأخلاقيات الإنسانية الشاملة، يستعصي على الفهم. ثم إن التورط الأخلاقي في عملية توقيع الصفقة بين الدولتين العظميين لإنقاذ القاتل والهروب بالغنيمة هو لأشبه بكوميديا سوداء او مهزلة (فارس) سياسية سوداوية لأنها لم تجئ من الاحساس بالواجب الانساني لحماية الشعب السوري من مواجهة الأسلحة الكيماوية و إنما كانت مدفوعة بالعوامل الانانية والاهداف النفعية الهادفة الى إبعاد روسيا و الغرب عن احتمالية وقوع الأسلحة الكيماوية في أيد خاطئة يمكن أن تسخدمها في المستقبل ضدهم. ولم يكن الشعب السوري باستثناء آل الأسد و أعوانهم ومواليهم ليدخل طرفا في تلك الحسابات.
لماذا تجدني أفكر أو أشعر بأنهم أساؤوا فهم الأمر بشكل كامل: حقوق الانسان، الانسانية ؛ ألاخلاقيات، الحرية، التحرر؛التشريعات القاضية بحماية الاطفال والضعفاء والذين لا صوت لهم؛ أسباب الذهاب للحرب و أسباب التدخل أو عدمه ؟ لقد فهموا هذه القيم والمبادئ بشكل خاطئ لأنهم عموما غير مستعدين لتقبل عالمية هذه المفاهيم، ومن أنها تمتد لتشمل البشر كلهم ومجوع الأمم.
” الأمر لا يعنينا ، هذه ليست مشكلتنا، الأعمال الخيرية، تبدأ ببيتها، التدخل ليس من مصلحتنا، من المؤكد أنه لا يخدم مصالحنا. نحن سلميون، مناهضون للحروب، نحن ضد التدخل” ، و هكذا دواليك. تتوالى التنوعات عاى نفس النغمة والموضوع ، موضوع إعطاء التبريرات لعدم تحريك ساكن وتقديم الأعذار اللامتناهية لتجاهل المجازر. جميع الحروب الحديثة في الشرق الأوسط كانت بدافع جنون الحصول على حصة من البترول أوبدافع مصالح وطنية او تبريرات امنية. وهنا يحق التساؤل هل الدخول في حرب من أجل الإنسان هي انحراف عن المسار أو خرق فاضح لقواعد المصلحة القومية او البراغماتية الدولية او محتمات السيطرة ؟ لما ذا لا نتقبل حربا تُشن من اجل انقاذ البشرية المعذبة اذا اقتضى الامر؟
ربما يحتاج الأمر الى سوريا، إلى كارثة إنسانية هائلة بدرجة غير مسبوقة لكي يُكتب فصل جديد في العلاقات الدولية : كيفية ترويض وحش النرجسية، وجنون السيطرة وفتح صفحة جديدة في العلاقات العالمية المتبادلة ما بين الدول. ولعل التأسف والندم، و هذا ما سيحصل مستقبلا، على ترك سوريا للتدميرو الانقراض سيكون العامل الأساسي او الأهم في إلغاء قاعدة احتكارالقوى العظمى الخمس في مجلس الأمن لاتاحة الفرصة لتطويرمجلس أمن جديد يعكس نظاما عالميا أكثر عدلا، ومجلس أمن لا يضحي بالأمم الأصغر لتقديمها على مذبح اللامبالاة العالمية و الطمع و الظلم.
كيف يجرؤون على اختزال كفاح الشعب السوري من أجل الحرية و الكرامة ضد طغاة بلده إلى مجرد تجريد الأسد من السلاح الكيماوي؟ بل الأنكى من ذلك، كيف يظنون بأن مدمر سوريا أي الأسد يمكن أن يكون من يساعدهم على التخلص من منظمة القاعدة في حال بقائه؟ إلى اليوم لم يحارب الاسد سوى شعبه و ليس القاعدة. والماساوي في كل هذا أن الشعب السوري و مصيره لا يشكلان لب الموضوع. ولعله من السياقي التذكير هنا بأن القوات المتحاربة سواء من طرف قوات النظام أو طرف محاربي المعارضة لا يتجاوز عددهم النصف مليون كحد أقصى، بينما في الحقيقة يوجد هناك 22 مليون مواطن عادي في سوريا، 7 مليون منهم مشرد داخل و خارج القطر. لذلك، لماذا يبدو مستحيلا أن نرى القضية بمنظارإنساني؟ لماذا لا يراهنون على السوريين المدنيين؟ المستقبل هو أرض غريبة بكر علبنا اكتشافها. لا توجد ضمانات . و لكن بدون الإقدام والمخاطرة و الأمل بوجود شيء ما هناك بدلا من السماح لأنفسنا بالغرق في حلقة مفرغة من الفرضيات والكوابيس لن نكسب شيئا بل من الممكن أن نضيع الكثير أوالكل. أتمنى لو ان العالم يراهن على شعب مقدام، يضم نساء وشبابا ويافعين مسالمين وأذكياء ومحنكين يتمتعون بالفطنة وسعة الحيلة لأنهم يستحقون ذلك. و قد أثبتوا جدارتهم من خلال الامتحانات المرة التي خاضوها فقد جابهوا العدميات والنيران وحتى السارين مؤخرا. فهم الجذور و هم جسد و روح سوريا، والذين يجب ألا يتم محوهم من الضمير العالمي الغارق في السبات بسبب الأسد أو القاعدة.
من الخطأ أخلاقيا ألا يحاكم المجرمون على جرائمهم ضد الإنسانية، ويتركون ليفلتو بفعلتهم
إذن لقد تم بيع السوريين مقابل الأسلحة الكيماوية. ولكن هناك جريمة ارتكبت. لقد تعرض حوالي 1400 شخصا للموت خنقا بالغاز، الكثير منهم رضع او أطفال. ماذا سيفعلون بهؤلاء وماذا سيفعلون بالجريمة ؟ هل سيغفرون للأسد و يوبخون الولد الشرير ويقولون له بألا يلعب بغاز السارين بعد الآن، ثم يربتون على كتفيه و يغادرون؟ ان البطل الهامليتي أوباما يصبح اكثر شبها بهاملت يوما بعد يوم، بينما يلعب به الروس لعبة القط و الفار ؟ ماذا يقول لنا هذا عن العالم و ماذا يقول عن حكام هذا العالم؟ انهم ليسوا إلا رجالا فارغين و هذا العالم ليس الا عالما أجوف. فالويل كل الويل لاطفال سوريا الصغار.
لقد شهدت الأسابيع الاخيرة أوباما و كيري يعلنان عن خططهم، ثم يغيران هذه الخطط، ثم يقلبان تلك لخطط رأسا على عقب، ثم يعلّقان تلك الخطط، فثم يعيدان صياغتها حسب الذوق الروسي. و قد تم استنفار الكونغرس و تحضيره ليصوت لصالح الخطط المدروسة ليصار إلى تخريبها من جديد ، و ترك الكونغرس يحيرة من أمره. هنيئا، ان فجر التذبذب قد بزغ.
بينما كانت المرحلة الثانية من الملحمةتمضي قدما قيل لنا بان السلاح الكيماوييجب التخلص منه خلال 30 يوما. ثم امتدت مدةة الثلاثين يومابقدرة قادر ليس فقط لـثلاثة أشهر و إنما لـستة أشهر، لا بل لسنة كما صرح الأسد مؤخرا. علاوة على ذلك لن يبدأ المراقبون عملهم فعليا قبل شهر تشرين الثاني. دعوني اتمهل, فهناك خبر جدبد: لقد تم التصويت في مجلس الامن البارحة ليلا وبقدرة قادر صوت الجميع لصالح القرار المتعلق بالسلاح الكيماوي!! من قال ان زمن المعجزات قد مات؟ عندما تتحد المصالح تتحرك الارادة المشلولة ويكون الامر: كن فيكون. فهنيئا ايضا لروسيا وامريكا.
لقد كتبت في مدونتي في الموقع الخاص بي: ” يا ملاك الموت، من فضلك افعل ما بوسعك و خذ وقتك. الآن لديك تصريح بقتل من تريده من نساء و أطفال و كبار و صغار، كلهم متاحون لك. اختر من تريد أو بالأحرى خذهم كلهم بدون تمييز. لا تنس المدن و البلدات، فهم لك لتحولهم إلى مقابر لتودع الاموات فيها. الحدائق ايضا و الجنائن و ملاعب الأطفال أو اي فسحة مكشوفة, كلها تحت تصرفك لتحولها إلى مقابرللدفن. أيها الموت ستحتاج إليها.” الا انني اريد ان اتساءل للمرة الثانية: و ماذا عن الجريمة ؟ استبقى بدون عقاب كما حصل مع الجرائم السابقة في الماضي، ومع الاغتصاب ومع التعذيب ومع تدمير المشافي بما فيها طاقمها الطبي، ومع جرف المدن، ومع صواريخ السكود، ومع تفجير المواطنين ، و إلخ….؟
يبدو أن هذا ليس كل شيء، لأنه حتى يتم دعم خطة التخلص من السلاح الكيماوي و إبقاء بعبع القاعدة تحت السيطرة يبدو ان هناك دور جديد للأسد في طريقه للاعداد و للظهور. من المطلوب منه الان أن يفك طلاسم اماكن السلاح الكيماوي للغرب والروس ليقودهم إلى مخبأ الغنيمة. هل هذه بداية لإعادة تأهيل الأسد و قبوله ثانية في العالم المتمدن, وذلك رغم التلميحات التي تزعم بانهم سيتخلصون منه ؟ إن أصوات جثامين المقتولين بغاز السارين تتصاعد إلى اعالي السماء. كيف لهذه الجريمة أن تدفن أو تنسى؟ أبتحريف تاويل وقراءة الادلة كما يفعل الروس الان, أم بالإخفاق في تسمية وادانة الجماعة المذنبة الى اجل غير معلوم, حسب المطلوب؟
زد على ذلك، أن هناك حملة مسعورة لمساواة جرائم النظام بجرائم الثوريين، يقودها مؤيدو الأسد مدعومين من قبل الإعلام الغربي و الراغبين بإرضاء ضمائرهم بتصوير الثوريين مسؤولين عن جرائم لا تقل بشاعة، من اجل ان يتم تقويض و تمييع أسس الحملة الموجهة ضد الأسد لجرائمه المرتكبة في حق الإنسانية. الا انني قبل أن أدحض هذه الحجة أريد أن أنوه إلى أن الشعب السوري الآن يخوض معركتين: معركة الأسد ضد شعبه و معركة القاعدة اخوان ضد الشعب السوري بهدف السيطرة على الأرض و فرض مبادئ دولة العراق و الشام في سوريا. هذه المجموعات التي تتألف في معظمها من محاربين ليبيين تونسيين عراقيين إيرانيين و محاربين من الإمارات العربية و سوريين يهدفون الى إعادة حكم الأقلية في سوريا. وهنا يتحتم علي القول بانه لا يوجد سوري مدني أو ثوري وطني واحد يرغب في رؤية هذه العصابات المنظمة الغازية تعيث فسادا و تسيء معاملة الشعب السوري. يحاول الجيش الحر جاهدا أن يقاوم العصابات ولكنه لن يستطيع محاربة النظام و هؤلاء بنجاح. إن جرائم كقطع الرؤوس هي بمجملها او معظمها نفذت من قبل المجموعات المتفرعة عن القاعدة و الإسلاميين المتشددين.
كلا الطرفين ارتكبا جرائم حرب ، هكذا تقول الأمم المتحدة. نحن نعلم ذلك و لكن ماذا يفترض بنا أن نفعله ؟ نقارن جرائم النظام بجرائم المعارضة المسلحة؟ أم نضع جانبا المطالبة بمحاكمة الذين أمروا بالهجوم الكيماوي؟ أو ننسى الطائرات المقاتلة، أو قذائف السكود، أو النابالم أو القنابل العنقودية؟ ماذا عن المدن التي سويت بالأرض والمزارع التي تصحرت أو الأبنية التي أحرقت أو التراث الذي محي عن الوجود، هل ننساها أيضا؟ أن المساواة ما بين جرائم الأسد التي لا تحصى ضد شعبه و بين جرائم العصابات التي ترتكب من قبل أفراد من أشباه منظمة القاعدة وشركاها ، أو مقارنة جرائم الثأر و الانتقام التي قام بها البعض من أتباع الجيش الحر و التي يبدو أن وسائل الإعلام مهووسة بها، بجرائم الأسد ضد الإنسانية يبدو كمحاولة تشبيه جريمة عظمى كجريمة هيروشيما بجرائم عصابات من المجرمين او غرباء غازين و انتهازيين محليين.
ان محوالمدن والتجمعات الانسانية من الوجود واعدام تراث سوريا التاريخي و الإنساني جريمة اخلاقية لا تغتفر
لقد عمد النظام السوري إلى هدم المدن بشكل منهجي و بلا رحمة على رؤوس المواطنين الثائرين منذ هجومهم على بابا عمرو في حمص في ربيع 1912. ولقد ظننا عندها أن هدم بابا عمرو و المناطق المجاورة لها هو القمة في التدمير و بأن الكلمة الأخيرة في الإبادة قد نطقت و بأنه لا شيء يمكن أن يضاف إلى ذلك. ان تحطيم بابا عمرو والمناطق المجاورة لها جعلنا نعتقد بانه كان الذروة وانه لاشئ يمكن ان يتفوق على مشاهد الباطون المهدم و أكوام الحطام في المناطق الهالكة والتي بدت وكانها ترسم تهاويلا وأشكالا تدنس السموات المائتة. كم كنا سذجا و قصيري النظر !
كان ذلك في فترة ما قبل حلب، الجوهرة في تاج سوريا، قبل المحو التدريجي الرهيب لتاريخ سوريا و تراثها، لجوامعها التاريخية، لكنائسها القديمة، لقلاعها الرائعة و مواقعها الأثرية. كان ذلك قبل درعا، دير الزور و غوطة دمشق و كان ذلك ايضا قبل جائحة حمص الثانية. انه لمن الواجب ان نذكر انه في حوليات التدمير وافناء الحضارة والتي يتفانى الجيش السوري في كتابةاحد فصولها الاشد خزيا، جاعلا من هذا الفصل فنا متكاملا في العدمية، يعتبر حكم الرئيس الاسد نادرا: الكمال المطلق في الافناء. وأنا اعتقد بأننا ونحن نشعر بالرعب الوجودي اذ نواجه مثل هذه الابادة، علينا أن نفعل ذلك و نحن على تمام الوعي بان ما يحصل لغيرنا يصيبنا نحن ايضا ويرتد علينا. بإمكاننا التظاهر بأن خرائب مدينة ما وأهلها ماهي الا بقايا ذات طابع جيولوجي، أو لا تزيد عن كونها أطلال أثرية نستطيع أن نعاينها كسياح ثم نتركها وراءنا محتفظين بإنفصالنا عنها وموضيعيتنا في سبيل استئناف حياتنا اليومية الروتينية. غير أن هذه المواقع الأثرية الحديثة المبتكرة والتي تبدو كاعمال فنية مميزة في موضوع الدمار الناشئ عن ضربها بلا هوادة بجميع أنواع الأسلحة المعروفة فيما عدا الذرية منها ، هذه المواقع الأثرية قد تم خلقها وما زالت تخلق أمام أعيننا موجة الاتهام الينا والى ازدواجيتنا و انحلالنا الأخلاقي. هناك الأميال و الأميال منها : هياكل مخيفة تشوه الافاق لمدن و بلدات و قرى مدمرة.
ان لاانسنة الانسان السوري dehumanization وتجريد سوريا من شعبها وازالة اعمارها وتفكيك نسيجها الاجتماعي و الأعظم من ذلك كله تجريد سوريا من حضارتها ، إنما يحصل تحت ناظر عالم صامت غير مبال و غير مهتم، أو ربما عالم حريص ماكرمتآمر يقيس أفعاله وردود أفعاله بمصالحه الخاصة، بطموحاته الجيوسياسية و بأنانيه واضحة لامواربة فيها. لقد تم تجريد سوريا من حضارتها وارثها التاريخي بدرجة خطيرة، الي الحد الذي يبدو فيه ان قصة الحضارة في سوريا تكتب الآن فصلا من أكثرفصولها حزنا و مرارة وبشكل لم يسبق له مثيل. هل العالم مجنون أم مختل؟ هل نريد لنظام أجاد في فن التدمير و طمس الحضارة ان ينجو ويستمر, وذلك لكي نوفر على أنفسنا بعض أوجاع الرأس في المستقبل؟ ان طبقة كاملة من شرائح الحضارات المتراكمة لتي خلقتها او استضافتها سوريا دُمرت او تدمر منهجيا و بوحشية إلى غير رجعة، و أعني بذلك الحضارة العربية الإسلامية. وليس من غير المتوقع في هذا الصد د ان اقول انه ما إن يتم القضاء على هذه الطبقة الحضارية العليا مع كل معالمها و صروحها التاريخية و التي من بينها اوابد مستمرة من أقدم الحضارات، و ما إن يتم الوصول إلى حالة من اليباب والأرض الجرداء الماهولة بالأنقاض وتتكامل عملية قلع الجذور الحضارية والبشرية، عندها سيباشر النظام السوري بإعادة بناء واعمارعالمه الشجاع الحديث بمساعدة الروس و إيران، كما خطط لهذا الأمر مسبقا.
ان الحضارات لا يمكن قياسها ببضعة مئات من السنين. لقد استهلكت آلاف من السنين لإخراج وايصال الإنسان من الكهف إلى القمر. و لم يكن ذلك إنجاز الغرب وحده، بل انجازالإنسانية ، بدءا ممن كان الأكثر تواضعا إلى من بلغ قمة العظمة. لم يخلق الغرب العالم على صورته الخاصة فلقدا احتاج الأمر إلى تراكم الموروث الانساني الحضاري باكمله لكي يتمكن الغرب من الوصول إلى ما وصل إليه حاليا. هذا وان سوريا التي تشكل القسم الغربي من ميسوبوتاميا، بلاد مابين النهرين، هي مهد او مهد للحضارات الانسانية، كمايطلق عليها المؤرخون. ولقد شهدت خطوات الإنسان الأولى نحو بزوغ فجرالحضارة اذ قام بترويض الوحش بداخله، كاشفا بذلك عن الإنسان المبدع و المخترع في ذاته ودافعا به الى الوجود.
ان أرض سوريا مقدسة لأبنائها و عليها أن تكون مقدسة للإنسانية. لننقذ ما نستطيع انقاذه لأن أرض سوريا هي أرض البشرية.
