The original sin, Assad and Medusa

Two  concepts sprang into my mind this morning, that of the Greek monster of vengeance the Medusa, growing venomous snakes for hair, who used to turn all those who gazed on her to stone, and that of the Christian concept of the original sin.  Both images came to my mind in relation to Assad and his hell. We are not blind to the present state of the Revolution, we are not blind to Isis and the Qaeda affiliates rampaging in Syria, we are not blind to the mercenaries of the world converging on Syria and despoiling the country. No we are not for we are fully aware. But the dominion of Assad, Assad the killer of his people, is the original sin and all other sins are either derived from him or dependent on him. He is the source of our damnation and we shall remain damned until we are redeemed by freedom and justice. Al Qaeda, the rogue Islamists and Isis are but manifestations of Assad, our original sin and the original sin. There will be no grace, no mercy, no healing for the Syrian people as long as the original sin reigns on Syrian lands.

As for the second image of the Medusa, just look at the kingdom of death and annihilation that has become Syria and you will understand what I am saying. The problem with Medusa is that it is snaky. Its tendrils, fronds and offshoots are but mini Medusas, each deadly, each another face of death, each but a mirror of the archetype. . Hunger and devastation are destroying and dissipating the people of Syria because of the Syrian Medusa, looking out of the face of Assad andher clones looking out of the eyes of Qaeda affiliates.

As long as Medusa and the original sin rule Syria, two manifestations of Assad, the damnation attendant on him will fester breeding more aberrations like Isis, aberrations allying themselves with him against the Syrian Revolution and the Syrian people , against the dream of freedom and emancipation.
